Enduring power of attorney in BC. In British Columbia a power of attorney is called enduring when it keeps working after you lose mental capacity. That is the version most people actually need — an ordinary power of attorney stops at exactly the moment a family needs it most. An enduring power of attorney covers financial and legal decisions only; health and personal-care decisions are handled separately, by a Section 9 representation agreement. Highpoint Law prepares both, and most clients sign them together in a single appointment.
Flat fees — quoted before any work begins
Straightforward, fixed pricing for the documents most families need. No hourly billing, and the fee you are quoted is the fee you pay.
Most clients are done in a single appointment. Call (604) 805-1925 to book, or ask which package suits you — there is no charge for that conversation.
Why Choose Us
In BC a power of attorney is called enduring when it continues to work after you lose mental capacity. An ordinary power of attorney ends at that point, which is usually when a family needs it most, so the enduring version is the one most people should have. It covers financial and legal decisions only — banking, bills, property and paperwork.
A power of attorney covers money and legal matters: banking, bills, property. A Section 9 representation agreement covers health and personal care: medical treatment, where you live, and day-to-day care decisions. They are two separate documents and most people need both. Highpoint Law prepares each for a flat $295, or together as part of an estate planning package.
Yes. A will can be changed or replaced at any time while you have capacity, and it is worth revisiting after a marriage or separation, a death in the family, a new child or grandchild, or a significant change in your assets.
